Thanks BlueNC. You are the bomb!

What a wonderful day when I found you all!! You became my friends, my cheering section, my shoulder to lean on and my closest confidants.

Thank you all. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all.

James; I will always be your friend.

Seems that I have been asked to come to Washington anyway for something else altogether.... Something I will get a paycheck for doing!

It was a great honor to run the race through the Primary. I wish things had turned out differently, but sometimes in the wonder of life...ya just are left wondering.

I love all of you and I believe that you know that is true.

Well...looks like tomorrow is coming..got to go see whats there....

I'll still be around though. Actually I am already working on another blog.

ALWAYS ON YOUR SIDE,
MARSHALL

Love you, Marshall

You are amazing.

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Marshall

I haven't known you as long as most of the others here have, but I have found your posts to be intellectual, insightful, and honest.

Also, the video of your speech at the Bash was so inspiring that I came a hair from emailing you directly to tell you so. I only held back because it was in the middle of primary week.

You, sir, are one of the great ones, and this is not hyperbole. If I can ever be of service to you in your future endeavors, do not hesistate to call on me.

Washington?!? CAN WE COME?!?

Marshall,

It's been great hearing your ideas and opinions regularly. There's nothing I hate more than wholeheartedly agreeing with a candidate i can't vote for. Regardless, when you're ready to give it another shot, I'll be there! Just make sure that no matter what you're doing in DC, you're SHOUTING about Blackwater at the top of your VERY politically young lungs.

From the 8th,
Christopher

Marshall is a Great American

Thanks for sticking to the issues and consitutional principles and fighting BlackWater in their backyard and taking the flack from them. You know when you are target, when the flack starts to come heavy.......

No secret Linda

I will decide between two programs.
One is becoming Deputy Director of the Army RESET Program. The other is a State Department project, the substance of which I will not know until I get there and somebody explanes it to me.. The Dep. Director positon sounds pretty good. Lots of travel.

I have my laptop though so I am never far away from you.

Looking forward to hearing word from the field.

so sorry for our loss

Marshall,

I am really sorry that we were not able to pull off a win for you in the primary. You have great qualifications and we truly have lost an opportunity for an informed progressive representative. I cannot believe it yet.

Hi Ekkeel.. Honestly, I was surprized more than anyone.

But life is crazy that way and if one is to be happy and succeed in life the curve balls and potholes must be expected.

I am okay. Sure, it was a bit painful the evening of may 6th, but by the next day I was already on the phone talking about tomorrow.

I have lived my life overcoming some pretty big obstacles. This was just another one on the road I call my life.

Pretty sure I won't try it again, but I grew in this process. I am better for it and others will benefit from my experience over the past year.

No time to despair.... I have 12 grandchildren who think their grandpa is some sort of superman.....Can't let them down now.

Thank you for the kind words.

Congratulations, Marshall!

I'm not sure how difficult the (unknown) State Dept. job will be, but I have a notion RESET is going to be a heck of a challenge. Either way, you've got some interesting work ahead of you, and your selection proves at least somebody in Washington doesn't have their head up their...um, fourth point of contact. :)

Fourth point of contact?

You make me feel so unsophisticated.

Where I come from, we call that "fifth base".

Parachute Landing Fall (PLF)

In order to absorb the impact of a lateral descent of 15-18 feet per second (or greater), you should keep your feet and knees together, and make contact with the ground in the following order: feet, calf, thigh, buttocks and back. It actually works pretty good, unless the wind is up.

Then it's feet/ass/head, or the really fun feet/head/feet/drag/bounce/drag/moan. But it's all good. :)

PLF

My first jump was out of a C-141. Talk about windy.

Jumping from a jet is extra weird

I always worried my chute would get burned by the exhaust. ;0

But I have to say, the first time I jumped from an open UH1H, that really freaked me out. I'm sitting there with my legs dangling over the side, with only this ancient, dry-rotted-looking strap laying across my lap, and then the pilot goes into a serious banking turn and all I can see is the wooded countryside like 1800 feet below, and my butt begins to slide down a little...

Night jump?

Now that's a pain in the ass, literally. When you can't see the ground comin' at you, you hit kinda hard.

Night jumps are freaky

I learned one thing pretty quickly: if it's a (relatively) clear night, and you can't discern any ground features, you're probably about to land in some trees. Which is really freaky.

Yes, I banged my head three too many times

But it's true what they say: even with a radically diminished capacity, you can still lead a fruitful existence. I can do a lot of things. I can even go to the store and give the nice lady the right amount of money (most of the time). And I've learned to not immediately go to the door after calling for pizza, I wait for twenty-five minutes to pass first. So I stand at the clock for twenty-five minutes, then go to the door. :) I'm smart!

cough cough

I'm not sure how deep my affection for you runs, Marshall, but I LIKE you plenty, and respect you a great deal.

Hope that will do.

yrs,

Bru'

Hi Brunette...We are closer than you might think

We share a love for the reality of Freedom and Democracy and not simply the rethoric of either.

We both share the willingness to put it on the line for what we believe.

We have remained quite civil to each other which indicates a certain level of respect and even friendship.

In many ways, we are of like mind Brunette... I think it is a good thing.

Thanks you for the kind gesture, which itself was a gesture of friendship.
