How long does it take for 14 adults to fold, stuff, seal, label and stamp 2200 fundraiser invitations?

Comments

That's what we did today!

We also got reminded about how important the judicial races are in November. AND learned what a total disaster it would be if Rusty Duke were to be elected as Chief Justice to the NC Supreme Court.

Duke has the full support of all the Puppets and has been features on virtually every wingnut website in the state. His opponent, Chief Justice Sarah Parker, calls her self a moderate conservative, which puts her a million miles to the left of the Dukester, who is truly certifiable.

Our stuffing party was for Adam Stein, a friend and an experienced attorney who is supremely well-qualified for the job. 2200 invitations. How long do you think it took?

As another test, I'm giving a shout of hello to A, SD, Lance and

Thomas Brock. Good evening everyone. How was your Saturday?

BTW A, how long did it take?

Doin' Good, Mo

Got up this morning and walked two blocks to the Flying Biscuit for breakfast. Later, I laid down a new rug in the living room, took delivery of a piano (don't go thinking I'm rich -- a church had one too many and was looking to get rid of this one; I paid $200 more than they asked, which is to say I paid $200), and went out for some BBQ with family —— all in all a good day.

And add to that that I'm still basking in the hearty liberal glow that comes with having taken public transportation to and from work every day last week (except the afternoon that I strolled from the office over to the dog park at Piedmont Park and met Arica and Daisy). I tell ya, I can get used to this city livin.

One of my next goals is trying to figure out how to transport Atlanta to a spot in North Carolina, say, between W-S and Charlotte maybe.

So Lance, Was Kermy lying when he said

"It's not easy bein' green"?

Are you missing the beautiful Carolina blue skies? The very green country side? I for one miss seeing you on here every time i check in!

At least for me,

considering that I work and live near MARTA train stops, it's pretty easy being green. We're going to go down to one car, too, methinks.

Thanks, mo!

Lance, we cut down our after school activities....

The main reason was so Emily could adjust to middle school without too much stress. Three afternoons of driving across town is stressful. We are down to one and one day for soccer. We are also in a carpool for soccer. I was wondering the other day how much of an impact the reduced driving was having on the environment just from my little family. I do know that even though gas has gone up in the past year, I'm not spending any more since I'm driving less. That's nice too.

Not green exactly, but better.

Robert

Are you going to put the frappr map up again soon? It looks great. I can't believe we don't have more from Charlotte, but we'll get there.

How goes the pregnancy?

I feel fine, thanks for asking! Arica has had a more nauseated than usual pregnancy, but everything seems to be ok, medically speaking.

Test, Test...Hey Screwy, Didn't see you here earlier...your name

didn't show on the list....HELLO anyway

Adam Stein looks like a very nice man

I hope he has a very good response to the fundraising letter.

3 adults and 500 letters

Took us maybe two and a half hours (including folding, stuffing, stamping, and sticking address labels), but we were yacking the whole time.

2 hours

2 hours is my guess. If most of them know what they are doing. And if your people stamping are as good as I am. My personal best was stamping 600 envelopes in 45 minutes.

BTW- writing a 2500 word memo on a saturday night is a sign of insanity isnt it?

Good Evening Love

Hope I catch you before you disappear too!

3.5 hours

Of non-stop serious cranking and only a 15 minute break for pizza! So that comes up to 49 person-hours.

I suspect the average billable rate for people working was at least $150, which means the real cost (to an economist) would be $7350.

And it was fun!

Not too many

envelope stuffers earn $150/hr. Glad ya'll had fun. I always enjoy doing that. I remember many hours of sitting around dining room tables stuffing envelopes and chatting about politics.

Net Democracy guide

Some helpful people have put together an information clearinghouse for new FEC regulations as they relate to blogging.  Most of you probably already know this stuff, but I thought you might find it interesting and informative all the same.

good point

a number of people have linked this before. We should really think about adding a permanent link to it somewhere on the site. Maybe in the quick links section or something like that?

Speaking of tests . . .

BlueNC readership averaged 1222 unique visitors a day last week! That's an all time high for sure. Our busiest day was Wednesday with 1301 visitors and 3000+ page loads.

Whatever you're doing, it's working!

Probably a lot of readers

from Kinston on Wednesday. ;) Oh My!
