I think I'm at loose ends.

So to speak.

On Sat. Nov. 3rd, I will speak at Pitt College 9AM: Greenville

Just in case you are interested and may be in the area.

The Pitt County Dems will be meeting at the Pitt County Community College (Fulford Bld.) 9AM.

It just occured to me that it can't hurt to mention it.

Marshall Adame
2014 U.S. Congress Candidate NC-03

Lots going on. IT's crazy

The Gaston Gazette reported today that McHenry donor, Gaston County Commissioner Allen Fraley, was fortunate enough to have two assault charges dropped from a drinking-related incident (with his son and others) at a Myrtle Beach bar. Two charges of assault and one of public intoxication dropped only because the people who filed the complaint didn't show.

You may remember him from when Monday Roll Call reported that he'd given Pat McHenry a $25,000 bargain on a house the same week he donated $500.

And knowing how McHenry enforcers Jason Deans and Brett Keeter behave to 10th District Republicans, I can imagine why the complainants to this charge failed to appear.

News of the 10th district: See Pat Go Bye Bye,

Gaston Commission a brokenback mountain cowboy for Patty?

The police report, the three accusers in the case were all working security that night at "Senor Frogs" — a club at the popular tourist strip known as Broadway at the Beach. *Gaston National Inquirer

It is also a well known repected Redneck Gay pick-up bar. In fact during the early 60's, the song " Hi Ho Silver" was born there and perform by a gay blade dude name " Tonto" The biggest fight in it's history was in the summer of 1964 when Tonto sang the song and challeged a group of drunken Lisbos on leave from the Navy to a fight when they wouldn't shut up during his act. All charges were dropped in the bawl. So nothing has change in it's history.

Some MB experts claim it was the first brokenback mountain republican cowboy beach act?

Moore - Perdue

Just wondering how everyone is feeling about this race and these two

Don't know how "everyone" is feeling

but I'm feeling burned out by it. A few weeks ago I resolved not to cover the tit-for-tat stuff and wait for substantive policy issues to discuss. Still waiting.

I think the BlueNC community is sharply divided. Some Moore supporters, fewer Perdue supporters (I'm one of them), and a lot of people asking "where's the beef?" That said, either of the two Democrats would be infinitely preferable to the government-hating candidates from the Party of Greed.

I just don't know.

I lean towards Moore - and I have no good reason to do that, except that there are Perdue supporters in my offline life that I don't care for. I am disappointed in both of them for neither of them being willing to go after Dole. Even though I'm thrilled with Jim Neal, it was disheartening to see so many of our leading democrats say "no thanks" to that particular avenue of public service. Make sense?

I'm kind of leaning towards Bev,

but that may be because I met a couple of her staffers Friday night, and they seemed really "excited". Plus, I handed out some Perdue stickers they had dropped off earlier, and I think the adhesive may have been laced with pro-Perdue molecules, which were subsequently absorbed into my bloodstream through contact with my fingertips.

I've cast votes with far less guidance in the past, like making value judgments based on a candidate's name: Gertrude? WTF? I don't think so or A judge named Armstrong? That doesn't sound very compassionate. :)

LOL

Gertrude? WTF? I don't think so or A judge named Armstrong? That doesn't sound very compassionate. :)

At least you're honest about it. :) I know I've made decisions in the voting booth because "that sounds like it might be a woman's name" - which is just silly.

I've decided not to pick a horse, and to follow the policies.

My first write-up on kids health care is here, and a follow-up here. The reason I decided not to get into it was because neither of them excite me and the mud throwing is a turn-off.

Meanwhile, In NC-11

There are three Republicans running for the nomination and the privilege of getting shellacked by Shuler.

John Armor -- who pulled 18% when he ran against Taylor last time.

Spence Campbell -- former Chair of the Henderson County Republican Party

Carl Mumpower -- Asheville City Councilman and psychologist who's been railing against the "hostile-dependency" of the Cherokee and other native American tribes. He's saying he'd like to phase out the Reservation system because it segregates and creates more victims. He's also attacking a good employer (Sonopress) because he has a hunch they're employing some illegal immigrants from a temporary agency.

Arratik at ScruHoo posted a cool email exchange b/w Mumpower and Tene Myrick, an employee at the Sonopress plant. Mumpower posted their exchange to a Yahoo! group online.

Excerpt:

"First and foremost I would like to thank you, Dr. Mumpower, for affording me, a private American citizen, the opportunity to become the topic of a public forum without my knowledge or consent. I suppose it would be far easier, as a politician, to exclude opposing viewpoints from the conversation altogether. And thanks also, for posting my name, personal e-mail address, and place of employment in a public forum without my knowledge. Kudos to Mr. Fishburne for encouraging that bit of journalistic integrity and responsibility.

Speaking of Mr. Fishburne, I’d like to address your proclamation that all laws, even those “inconvenient ones” should be enforced. If such is the case sir, why is it that when your associate, Dr. Mumpower, openly admitted attempting to purchase illegal narcotics, and was found to be in possession of crack-cocaine, no charges were ever filed, no trial ever held, and no sentence ever served. I suppose, Mr. Fishburne, that enforcement of “all” laws has its exceptions when the almighty Mumpy deems his vigilante brand of justice above the law. The fact is, Mr. Fishburne, that Carl Mumpower is not a congressman, he is not an officer for local, state, or federal law enforcement, and he is not inerrant. I never suggested to Dr. Mumpower that certain laws should be overlooked. I am, myself, a law-abiding citizen and expect that those people with whom I share my community can respect the law as well. My goal in writing to Mr. Mumpower was to point out that he has no right to request personal information about the employees where I work (I smell McCarthyism), he has no right to exacerbate the already delicate issue of illegal drugs pervading our area by committing a crime himself, and that the callousness with which he addresses minorities in the area is not likely to garner votes. To make sweeping generalizations about “non-English speaking” members of the community and presume that because of their Hispanic heritage they must be illegal is blatant bigotry. To suggest that Native Americans in the area perpetrate racism and play the role of perpetual victims is also considerably ignorant. Segregation, Dr. Mumpower, is the forced separation of one group of people from another. The Cherokee nation chooses the distinguish itself to maintain a heritage that has been increasingly encroached upon for hundreds of years. You’re abandoning votes, Dr. Mumpower, by publicly stating your distaste for, so far, Hispanics and Native Americans in our area."

Mumpower

Sort of bizarre to see someone evolve so quickly into a laughingstock. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

A thousand words

I hope that image is with Condi

for a long long time.

Nice way to "protest"

Assault the Secretary of State

doesn't assualting...

...include touching?
She didn't even touch Condi, so I don't see an assault at all.

Besides, it seems Ms. Rice hasn't been touched in a long time, she might have enjoyed it.

Secretary of State or not

she's a lying sack of shit.

I can't think of one nice thing to say about her. Retire her ass and let her shop for shoes the rest of her miserable, worthless life.

Next time I won't hold back.

Condi's security dudes were S-L-O-W

Reminded me of Rove's in Hendersonville. They were bored and not watching the audience . . . Now, Pelosi's are serious about their jobs. They scared me.

That woman could have done some serious damage before those guys stopped picking their noses.

Even with metal detectors and searches, she got way way too close for too long a period of time.

Would never happen unless you were responsible for helping to lie this country into a useless war and were responsible for the loss of tens of thousands of innocent lives - maybe hundreds of thousands.

IDK, it can be a lot of fun ...

9/11 was a inside panty Condi job?

She was probably thinking about what Bill Maher said...*SPLib

"Do we have some (flipping) security in this building"* Freaking out Bill

Don't you just love it when somebody screws with the amazing and massive 9/11 Truth movement without any brains.

Art Pope <3 Rudy

Every time I read about another Rudy G., screw up I wonder if Art Pope still stands by his man.

Godfather Rudy! I love you says Captain Art

Every time I read about another Rudy G., screw up I wonder if Art Pope still stands by his man.* A

Art is a loyal mafia hitman and swored to protect the family mafia millions [ make that billions now] no matter how much Rudy G screws up. It's a Godfather thing! Art kisses his ringknocker ass just like in the movie.....

Like today's Fox network myth, The mob had a 400 hundred thousand contract hit out on Rudy G which was a joke. When Dewey ran against Truman in 48, Dewey claim the mob had a contact out on him for a million dollars......Harry reply saying that he would give a dime toward the contract if Dewey would reveal the Godfather who put out the contract.

Hell! History knows the only sure contract by the mob was when those outside spooks [ military indusrial complex] in the CIA had the mob put the hit on JFK....

Good news

I have over 3000 emails that Time Warner Cable just delivered to my inbox. If you've emailed me in the past month or so....I'll be getting back to you soon. :)

I do wonder what I've missed.

Iowa News and New CSM article on Jena Six

CSM is printing an article saying the whole Jena thing was hogwash, so I responded on Kos.

Also, Iowa News: Jan 3 is the date.

That was an excellent diary at KOS, Sam

As for the Iowa date for Dems - I have very mixed feelings. I know that the "early states" love their status as that. But I really hate that by the time the NC primary in May rolls around, a lot of my choices maybe already out of the race.

I wonder how the campaigns are handling the pressure to do all that last minute campaigning over the holidaze.

Person County volleyball rocks the gym tonight!!

The defending state champs took care of Wake Forest - Rolesville in three straight games to take the district championship.

On to regionals and then, if successful, to big dance in Raleigh.

I would not want some of those girls hitting the ball at me.

Person County Democrats

I actively oppose gerrymandering. Do you?
