Open Season: George Bush

So. The Preznit will be on the boob tube tonight telling more lies to the world. Why he's even bothering is beyond me. George Bush doesn't care what Congress has to say about his insane war in Iraq. He doesn't care what Walter Jones has to say. Or Howard Coble. Or any Democratic representative. Or the American people. The troop surge has already begun.

What an ass.

Comments

Long like "breaking the page" long?

Or long like "I could search for the Brothers Karamazov but I only want to search for the Art of War" long?

Nope

It juts into the comments, but it is fine. It doesn't bother anything

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

I killed it mo, took it out back and POW like old yeller!

There were two components to the decision, one technical and the other more user-interfacery. The latter had to do with the fact that we often have five or more active threads, and the "recent comments" block was starting to offer more noise than clarity. Back in the old days, of course, when it was just me, A, and TarGator talking about how wonderful the Southern Dem is alla the time, the recent comments block made more sense.

The technical reason is a pretty good one, too. We've moved to a new method of presenting the blocks in the left and right sidebars. The information in these blocks may be a few minutes old, but page load times are significantly down. Having slightly stale information in the "events" or "NC news wire" blocks isn't a big deal, but a delay on the recent comments block could be really confusing.

And I have to agree that the tracker is the way to go, as far as getting a quick accurate picture of what's going on where on the site.

But I'll be back in a second with another comment and a compromise....

I give, I give

I was just being lazy anyway....track changes does make you read what might have been missed. Don't compromise Lance, it's good like it is!

No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.

As you like it

Compromise averted!

A HAH

i just figured out how to get the "whos online" up.

12 users and 137 guests. Seems huge to me, for 11pm on a wed. But, maybe I am still not used to the popularity of this place.

the shrub makes an apology into a sound bite

Well you can just bite me w, your apology just doesn't sound sincere! "There have been mistakes made in Iraq and the resposibility rests with me." Where's your smirk now!
