Is the corrollary of this that we need to raise taxes? I am not aware of one teacher in our county that has been laid off in the past two years. So we need to spend our way to prosperity?

There are places we should cut and there are places where we should raise more revenue. You can't say we should use cuts alone -- as Stam and Berger contend -- and then put out ads like the NC GOP that complain that cuts are being made to education. Education and health care eat up most of the budget. If you want cuts alone of course education and health care will get cut.
The private sector can lay off as many folks as the economy dictates, but "how dare" We the People lay off government workers! The nerve! I'm just wondering, can we all quit our private sector jobs and go work for the government?
Is it only me, or does anyone else absolutely hate Harold Johnson's campaign commercials on TV? That guy gets on my last nerve almost as much as Tim D'Annunzio.
