"Jesus Camp" shuts down, Satan shrugs

Just read an interesting artilce over at 'Culture Blog', about the "Jesus Camps", they've been temporarily shut down until the climate is right to open them up again. You know, when it's again popular to be a cult leader and brainwash children....

"I'm a little relieved, a little saddened," said Jesus, sipping a giant soy mocha and flipping through the recent New Yorker fashion issue on the veranda of an enormous, beautiful cumulous cloudbank somewhere over Brazil. "I mean, that place was way crazy. I did love the speaking-in-tongues part, though. So old school! But those kids, oh man, I can only hope they make it through their teens before self-imploding. Maybe I should introduce them to rock n' roll? The new My Chemical Romance is really good. Sorta like Queen meets Green Day by way of Bowie. They'd love it!"

And since the Dems and all progressives are known for giving everyone equal time....

Satan, currently slumped on an enormous, ratty couch in his den, surrounded by four million empty bottles of Cuervo Gold and a truckload of Marlboro Lights and battling a severe bout of depression given how the GOP "like, totally ruined" the master plan he had so carefully burned into the flabby tissue surrounding Karl Rove's black and poisoned heart, merely shrugged and took another pull.

"Wait, that place was for real?" muttered the Dark Lord, between belches. "I thought Christ was just playing some sort of practical joke on me. That guy never quits, you know? What's next, Ted Haggard 'accidentally' marries that gay hooker in Vegas? Whatever. Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go prep a room for Rumsfeld."

Slug Coulter was heard sobbing in Satan's back room, "I tried, I really tried!"

I admit I've gotten a little slack in keeping up with my god news lately. Love your opening comment.

Aww A you are too kind

:)

No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.

La Chapelle aux Folles

When I see that picture of Ted Haggard and the phrase "Jesus Camp" together I can't get out of my head an idea for a new Broadway musical "La Chapelle aux Folles"
