Oh No!

I don't think I qualify.

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Vote Democratic! The ass you save may be your own.

Because you're not thinking

or cuz you're not people?

:)

If anyone qualifies, you do.

No silly...because I'm not a tank

I'm more of an armored personnel carrier. :)

Whoa

didn't see that one coming. Betcha "they" won't either.

Hummmmmmmm.

Good stuff

We need a sugar daddy person for some fellowships.

Sugar person

Very funny.

Love it!

Now instead of avoiding work, I can be "consulting."

And keep track of your time

so you can write it off as a bidness expense. That's what the Puppets do . . . to my knowledge.

We don't have a Sugar-Daddy

paying us to bring the issues to light, instead, we contribute our time and treasure to candidates that we believe best reflect our beliefs.

No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.

Kudo's to Lance

The People's Wink Tank

Lance, you're gonna need to come up with a secret "wink, wink" that's different from Jack Hawke's.

Oh wait, I forgot. BlueNC's not "non-partisan" and tax exempt. We can just say so without winking.

Looks a little strange in IE 6.

In Firefox need to hit reload to see it for the first time.

Ewwww.

That's not very pretty.

Looks fine in FF

I think it's because IE is not recognizing the transparent background of the PNG image file.

Exactly right

Greg, if you're still near a computer with IE6 and if you have a moment, could you verify that things look ok now? (May take a browser refresh.) Thanks!

Looks good

The browser doesn't need to be refreshed, but I do.

Yikes.

Forgot about the fact that IE6 can't handle transparent PNGs. Will see about getting this GIFified.

I would prefer...

"a bunch of left-wind Democrats who have nothing better to do than sit around and write these little messages to each other."

Jack Hawke, who was spending his Saturday to meet and talk about the same subjects we do, oh and to complain about us.

There's a big difference

between the People's Think Tank and everyone else.

They all take the weekends off!

Just stop by NC Policy Watch, the Dome, the Carolina Journal, etc., and notice that we're the only ones engaged in discussions over the weekend.

For them it's a job. For us, it's life.

Big difference.

Do I have to be civil now?

or can I keep having fun?

I think i can , i think i can,,,,ewwwww I think i can. just dont tank me.

You can be anything you want, Mr. P.

The People's Think Tank is wide open for whatever!

Does this make us seem like a

pack of commies? Or is it politically incorrect for me to use the term "commies?"

Commies

How old is that picture?

seems like I remember seeing that pic a long time ago?

you guys crack me up with your pictures. I like coming here just for those pics! Keep em coming. I dont have the imagination to do that kinda stuff.

of course we are commies

but thankfully, by their definition, so are the 80% of americans who believe in things like raising the minimum wage.

That was always so strange to me growing up

Communism and socialism sounded fine, if that's what citizens wanted. It was just the tyranny and lack of democracy that made them not work. It didn't seem like the US was any more democratic on paper than many countries who were our "enemies."

And, now, it seems as if we have become money-worshiping Capitalists with no understanding of democratic principles whatsoever. I guess this will put me on some list to have my phone tapped, but if the Taylor blogging didn't the McHenry stuff will (or the upcoming snarky Rove videos!) So have at it, so-called patriotic American leaders. Come after a 48-year-old, hairy legged, saggy-breasted commie-lover. Bring it on.

News of the 10th district: See Pat Go Bye Bye,

I thought bloggers

were just a bunch of 25 year olds without jobs who live in theri parents basement? is this wrong?

also, yes you are correct, while tyranny of the majority is scary, true democracy relies upon the people getting their way most of the time. I dont have enough time to list all the issues the Republicans have said "no" to the will of the people on.

Sistah!

I join you in hairy legged, saggy-breasted solidarity.

I figure if you get on an "Enemies List", you must have done something right.

My dream comes true at last

When I was a kid, all the other little boys on the playground dreamed of being cowboys, firemen, and astronauts. I used to tell them that I wanted to be a political operative, preferably in the ivory confines of a think tank. Then one of them would punch me in the nuts and run away.

War is over if you want it.

Inter, did you go to school with W?

You should have thanked those little boys

For giving you such good preparation for a career in politics!

It explains. . .

Why I wore a cup to the Forsyth Dem Convention a couple of weeks ago.

War is over if you want it.

Nope,

Molded plastic, my man. Molded plastic.

Oddly enough, it breathes better than brass. . .

War is over if you want it.

hhahahah

oh thats classic

You've arrived!

Now all we need is those darn bidness cards . . . don't worry. I'm working on them.

Laughing so hard I'm crying.

Neuticals! BWAHAHAHA!!!

On neuticles. . .

I found the molded plastic cup to be more comfortable. Neuticles were too drastic a step to take just for a county convention. I might do that if I get to go to Denver next summer. . .

War is over if you want it.

Not something I could really comment on

Unencumbered as I am by said appendages, I am able to move freely about county conventions and other dangerous political gatherings without out the necessity of protective undergarments. However, gentleman who attend gatherings where I am in attendance would be wise to consider apparel similar to that which you describe :-D

My father was a delegate in 1996 in Chicago. It was one of the greatest and most memorable events of his life. I hope you get to Denver.

One for the suggestion box, please

We should go hip-hop when we ask others if they know about BlueNC. . .instead of saying, "Do you ever blog on or read BlueNC," we should query, "Are you down with PTT?"

War is over if you want it.

sorry

I kicks it old skool.

War is over if you want it.

Question for all you political science majors/graduates

My son is a high school junior, considering political science as a possible major in college. This summer we will begin touring colleges, so I'd like to ask: Where did you attend school (or are you attending)? What sort of classes are included in the Poli Sci curriculum? Do you like where you are/were? If you know the answer to this one - is there an active Speech/Debate group on campus? Would you recommend your school? Private message me please to let me know. Thanks!

I dont mind responding in public

As you know, Im at State. I love it. Our department is fantastic, and I have a real respect for most of my poli-sci professors. I have no idea about a speech or debate group, but if there are specifics you or he wants to know about State's curriculum and department let me know.

Thanks!

He's liked the look (literally the look) of State since we attended the Kerry-Edward rally there in 2004. It's on our list. I will point him to the Kos diary, too. My son is changing his mind every couple of weeks, but he keeps coming back to Poli Sci.

the real benefit

of state over every other school is that the building where the poli-sci dept resides is about 1 to 1 1/2 miles from NCDP HQ and the legislative building. Its an easy place to go if you want to make this a career and get your foot in the door as an intern.
