I am annoyed

Now it seems to me that this is not a good way to run a campaign. I know when I was in NH with Clark back in '04 we always answered the phone and some one was in the office almost 24/7. It seems to me that the days right after the first debate would be a time that you needed people to answer the phones to connect with voters that you just put over the edge. All I want to know is who is the point person for Edwards here in NC-11? If any here knows, please let me know. I am going to keep calling the office anyway until I get an answer.

Speaking of ineffetive offices, Shuler's people have really put me off. About three weeks ago he has this little fundraiser at an Asheville Tourists' game (minor league baseball). There I was talking to one of his staffers (female, older unfortunatly don't remember her name) and she took my email to get in touch with me later (would not give me one of her cards, said she was out) and guess what? I have not heard from her since. This is ontop of the time that I called the office about a week before that and left a meesage with the volunteer cordinator to see if there was time that I could donate to work on constituent (sp?) issues and services. Never heard back from her either (I am not sure, but it might have been the same women). Again, this just seems like a bad way to run an office.

Has anyone else had this kind of trouble with either of these organizations or with other Dems in the state? If so no wonder we get our ass handed to us on a regular basis. We need some disciplined people running these offices that acctually get back in touch with people and give a shite about the normal people out here in the "real world."

Just wanted to vent.

Most of my experience is with David Price's office

which is a very well run operation.

Some elected officials really care about what their constituents think, some sort of do, and some flat-out could care less. Try getting something out of Dole's office and see how far you get.

Venting is good.

Venting allowed

constituent services is extremely important. Jesse Helms might have been a nut case, but he/his office was well known for excellent constituent services.

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.

Vote Democratic! The ass you save may be your own.

This is exactly what I am talking about.

I am glad to know that at least there is one member of the NC Democratic Delegation that as an office that is on top of it. It is the home office that can make or break you.

I have been thinking about this, and it blows my mind that the party of the people has such bad people skills sometimes. I think that it is mainly a resouces things. Us on this side just don't got the money, honey. This means that at the end of the day we get people who do so much (like the lists that people have been flaunting here recently) and they get burned out. It is my firm opinion that until we get trained, paid organizers in at least every district organizing for progressive causes (to just the party, but for the ideas) we will never make any head way.

Well I can leave some more of this for a future time and a full blown blog post, but for now I will say, as the French do, au revoir!

From your words to their ears...

I have been personally emailing and calling Chapel Hill One Corps members for the last two weeks. Starting this Monday, we will be doing calling all day, every day, to reach out to anyone that has ever written, emailed, posted, filled out a form, signed up at a rally, called, or in any way suggested they would like to "help out". We'll be giving information on many different ways to help, from local outreach, to traveling for events.

If you are interested in coming to the office for a day and making these sort of calls, then give me an email through the online form.

Chapel Hill is a little far for me...

But this is the kind of stuff that I want to get off the ground here in NC-11. I just need to know who the local contact person is.

My last ditch effort (not really) is going to be a friend of a friend that is working for the campaign there in CH.

We shall see how that goes.
