Most people lie. According to this TED Talk, it's a fairly common occurrence. "We're lied to 10 to 200 times a day, and tell a lie ourselves an average of 1 to 2 times in the same period."
Some lies aren't especially harmful, they're like a case of the sniffles. But some lies are like the coronavirus. They wrap themselves around our truths, destroying trust one shallow breath at a time.
The coronavirus is only one of the pandemics ravaging America. We're also facing a pandemic of lies. Both are killing us.
Yesterday was a day of rest from writing. Instead, I refinished our porch furniture, something that's been on my mind for at least three years.
