Happy Christmas everyone!

It's going to be a long night for this old man. I have to wait until daughter and wife go to sleep and then start sneaking around to find the presents I've stashed here and there. I usually forget something until halfway through the morning! Out daughter is 16 and still plays along with my Santa game. Every year I get to write her a "letter from old Saint Nick" which always thrills her to no end.

Merry Christmas

Robert . . . and don't forget to recycle/reuse all that wrapping paper!

Did you have to put a bicycle together last night?

:)

Slept till 9...

opened presents while eating rice pudding and fending off cats who thought they wanted to eat it. Sometime this afternoon some friends are coming over, and we'll watch Young Frankenstein and Shaun of the Dead. And eat food and drink mead. (And fend off cats who want to eat the cheese.)

I have tomorrow off work, too. Woo, government job.

Merry Christmas

Happy Holidays and a wonderful New Year to all!! ... FPers, Posters, Commenters and Lurkers ... you're all my BlueNC family!

"They took all the trees and put them in a tree museum Then they charged the people a dollar 'n a half just to see 'em. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone? They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."

Merry Christmas Everyone

I miss you all, but had to force myself to rest since I wasn't getting any better.

The girls are playing with their cell phone, digital camera and their daddy is plugging in the Wii game console. I hear them giggling like crazy at the game they are playing. I'll let you know if the tv screen survives the experience.

Peace, Y'all

I spread it

I spread my disease to my family - my mother, my local sister-in-law, etc., so I was afraid to get around too many people. My wonderful brother and sister-in-law from Raleigh brought us the entire Christmas dinner. They drove in the pouring rain. They even served us like they were caterers. I love, love, love them.

Brothers are good for that

My wonderful (SINGLE - Divorced, no kids just dogs) brother brought us barbecue from down east. He just moved from Lexington to Wilson. He knew I was sick and knew we love barbecue, so he brought us dinner for tonight. :)

I only woke up once last night. Hopefully, I'm getting better.

Caught this on bluesunbelt

This list makes it pretty obvious where Hillary is going to be running (ideology wise) and who she is afraid of.

* Nancy Jacobson: senior adviser working with Jonathan Mantz, former architect of Sen. Evan Bayh's brief presidential run, married to Mark Penn.
* Mike Henry: Deputy Campaign director, handled the independent expenditure ad campaign for the DSCC in '06, managed '05 campaign of VA Gov. Tim Kaine, and managed primary campaign of IL businessman Blair Hull in '04 against Barack Obama.
* Stefanie Freeman: deputy finance director, Jacobson's deputy for Bayh.

This just sounds ridiculous.

* Burns Strider: "faith guru" and adviser.

Faith guru? Honestly. I hope that's not the actual title they're giving this person. Even I can write jokes about that. Wait till The Daily Show and The Colbert Report get their teeth into it.

I'm not saying it's bad to have someone advising Hillary Clinton's campaign on religious issues, but it seems far from common sense to call the position "guru."

I think

Thats the name given the guy by whoever compiled the list. I would assume his title is something along the lines of "Senior Policy Adviser" or some such.

And its actually fairly common Clinton family practice to have a person in their inner team who is God first and Politics Second. Which, explains a lot about both his presidency and their marriage.

Color me cynical

And its actually fairly common Clinton family practice to have a person in their inner team who is God first and Politics Second. Which, explains a lot about both his presidency and their marriage.

I don't make judgements about their marriage or personal life; I thought his presidency was fine, especially compared to where we are now. But having a "senior advisor" whose main job is to advise about faith seems cynical and calculated. Of course we don't have a list of Edwards' or Obama's staff lists, but at this point, I'm guessing that it's not there.

Hmm. Maybe I need to examine myself, because it appears I am making judgements that I don't wish to make.

its importnant

How the person is used. If they are there to give spiritual advice on an issue then thats definetly fine. And thats how I had understood that person's role.

But, if its a person who tells them how the decision will play in the religious community and what they need to do to help themselves with people with faith you would be right about it being bad.

We had a wonderful family day

My mother came and joined my husband and son and me for the morning festivities, and this evening we joined my two brothers and their families (including parents-in-laws and one ex-wife) at one of their homes (blessings be heaped on my sister in law for hosting six children ranging in age from 5 to 15, 7 adults from my generation, and 5 from the my mother's generation. Many more ancestors watched from the sidelines, I'm sure. A boisterously happy good time was had by all.

We had to leave early as hubby had to get back to work. :(

Found the magical formula to a shit storm with a ton of comments that wont make the recc'd list...

i wonder

why none have responded to me asking about obama running a 50 state strategy. if they dont answer im gonna go troll diary on them.

although ill aim most of the hate at hillary probably. Mostly because I have actually seen Edwards say that he would run a 50 state strategy, and I think Clark would do it also.

I had heard that one. Obama was asked about it and he said he guess he could quit. Well, duh! Are you going to be a role model or what?
