Harvy Gantt

Endorses Perdue. I'd consider that a biggie, for those who are keeping score.

It's a biggie, indeed.

I have a lot of respect for Harvey Gantt. But I'm pretty sure that endorsements from celebrities and politicos I don't know personally don't mean anything to me.

I have heard

102.1 jams commercials with Alma Adams,
She (perdue) is clearly pandering.
She faces an opponent who actually stood up to interests detrimental to low-pay workers.

English anyone?

When I was in China, it seemed like every young person in the country was obsessed with speaking English. Looks like my observation was pretty accurate.

The US corporate owned mainstream media

continues to spin rosy scenarios regarding the political fortunes of HRC. The time has come to renounce US style criminal corporate capitalism for being the vultures that they are. These people are criminals, and have committed numerous crimes against the public welfare of the United States oF America.

US style capitalism is unsustainable, environmentally destructive, and culturally immoral. It's time for a more equitable distribution of wealth in America, as well as the rest of the world. It's vitally important that humanity discover a steady-state and sustainable lifestyle and economic system.

Great Win for Obama

To cut a 20-point deficit in half despite Wright-gate, Bitter-gate, and ABC-gate.

Great

He lost a state needed for winning the Presidential election.

That's Ridiculous

I hate when people say that. It's such inane logic.

People had a choice between two Democrats and they chose one.

That's how primaries work.

That doesn't mean, if that person's not the nominee in November, they'll automatically change parties.

my bad

He could win the Dakotas (even Daschle could not do this), Mississippi, Montana and Utah. Who cares about Ohio or Penn.

We all care about OH or PA.

But we also care about MI, MT, and UT. And, I hate to point this out, NC. Hence the name of the blog.

From Today's New York Times

Ouch.

A clip:

The Low Road to Victory

The Pennsylvania campaign, which produced yet another inconclusive result on Tuesday, was even meaner, more vacuous, more desperate, and more filled with pandering than the mean, vacuous, desperate, pander-filled contests that preceded it.

Voters are getting tired of it; it is demeaning the political process; and it does not work. It is past time for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to acknowledge that the negativity, for which she is mostly responsible, does nothing but harm to her, her opponent, her party and the 2008 election.

Ouch indeed.

No matter what the high-priced political operatives (from both camps) may think, it is not a disadvantage that Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton share many of the same essential values and sensible policy prescriptions. It is their strength, and they are doing their best to make voters forget it. And if they think that only Democrats are paying attention to this spectacle, they’re wrong.

emphasis mine.

I have to say I agree with them. As a lifelong Democrat, I was disgusted listening to media "gods" tonight talking about how divided we are, how much we distrust each other (Clinton supporters and Obama supporters) when we all know damn well that either one of them would be better then McCain.

I will be working my tail off between now and May 6 for Barack Obama. But once our party has decided on a nominee - I will be working my tail off. I hope it will be for Barack Obama. If it's for Hillary Clinton, for a while, I may have to grit my teeth a bit and remind myself, "better than McCain". But it won't take that long. Not that long at all.

Me too

You don't know me well enough to say I am not the kind of person who makes sacrifices in the name of electing democrats. I do!

I just want to win.

I never said that you weren't.

Sorry if it seemed I were implying that.

I was more ticked off at Main Stream Media than anything else - telling us how we're so divided. Come down here to NC and see how divided we are, Chris Matthews!

Better than McCain

Emphasis (and typo correction) mine.

I'm not convinced that we, collectively, know that. I don't mean that in the sense that maybe McCain is not so bad. I mean that in the sense that maybe we -- both Clinton supporters and Obama supporters -- don't realize (or won't accept) that either IS better than McCain.

The exit polls from PA point to a disturbing trend. There is a demographic divide in the Democratic Party, and the candidates aren't doing anything to bridge it.

According to CNN:

But the contest appears to have left a bad taste in the mouth of many voters: Eleven percent of those voting in the Democratic race said they would vote for McCain over Clinton. Another 6 percent said they would stay home in a race between McCain and Clinton, the New York senator and former first lady.

Ten percent of Democrats said they would sit on their hands in a McCain-Obama race, and 15 percent said they would vote for McCain over the Illinois senator.

Granted, these are PA voters immediately following a contested primary, but it's a dangerous game of chicken for us to be playing.

so lets

just end it all before all Americans have had a chance to vote. Right?

I mean

It ends may 6, 2008

No.

The primary in NC is on May 6, 2008. Why are you so bitter?

Oh No...

Don't say bitter!

I am bitter because of Bush

thats is why we need to win.

And on that note, my friends

I will bid you all good night.

Congratulations to Senator Clinton for PA.

And now it begins.

So Obama by like, roughly

So Obama by like, roughly 500,000?

no not at all

You see actually Hillary has more votes. Because caucus goers arent people, so their votes dont matter. And some of those states voted for Bush, so they dont matter (still not sure how Florida ends up counting but whatever). And, other states voted for Obama, so obviously those votes dont count either.

Do a little creative subtraction and what do you know, Hillary wins by a landslide!
