"60 Minutes" on the explosion of Deepwater Horizon

If you missed "60 Minutes" two Sundays ago, make sure you watch this video. It's hard to believe the negligence of the BP operators.

Yeah, quite an education on what happened!

I thought the part about how the workers on the platform saw the broken seals on the drill equipment, but how the managers didn't halt any of the work for repairs. That was the criminal intent in my non-legal opinion. Of course we know large corporation managements or executives don't get prosecuted for anything anymore, so we'll just call it a mistake, and accept the "modest" damage, in the words of the BP CEO. I saw it last weekend, but for anyone who wasn't sure what happened, this is well worth watching. Thanks for the post, Sierra!

Nice wrap-up of the suits to blame here....

When something really horrible happens, I find it both cathartic and useful to, well, point the finger of blame -- especially at those who are calling the shots but who are careful not to get their hands dirty -- because I keep hoping exposing others will shame more people into thinking before they cut corners, put others and our planet in jeopardy or just, in general, behave like boneheads. With that in mind, here is an awesome wrap-up of the individuals at fault in the Deepwater Horizon disaster, and a few other well-deserved licks added in the comments below this article.
