10th district ***Tight Race***

Tomorrow 10th district delegates will be choosing the party chair who will lead us through the 2008 election season.

Delegates will have to choose between incumbent chair Judy Gilbert, a retired school administrator, and Tony McEwen, outgoing state Young Democrats president who handles veterans affairs for Congressman Mel Watt.

Of course, for all I know, there may be other nominations from the floor.

Registration begins at 11, convention starts at noon at Moore Hall of the Western Piedmont Community College in Morganton. Only delegates selected through their county conventions can vote.

Very nice, DQ

Such a gentle way with words.

Call me subtle.

That's why I have so many friends.

News of the 10th district: See Pat Go Bye Bye,

Okay Mr. prez just apologized

privately and quite profusely so now I feel like a turd. And, on that note, off to the convention.

Tony McEwen won

don't wanna start a new thread. Congratulations to "Tony-of-the-gazillion-great-ideas" and wonderful energy. Lot's of good vibes.

Kudos to outgoing chair Judy Gilbert. I'm promoting her for DNC committee post. Maybe I should do a video . . .

The meeting was ENDLESS. God-awful. I spent most of the time in the lobby pimping Pat Go Bye Bye.

Note to chairman Meek: We really need to standardize the delegate-selection process. Perhaps the plan of org can be clarified on that one. OR SOMETHING.

Everyone knows I cannot stand these meetings but this one was ridiculous . . . However, I'm pretty sure fixing every irregularity would not have changed the outcome.

So, county chairs, for future reference: figure out the number of delegates you are allowed and do not submit any more numbers to the party. Potential delegates: make sure you are on the list long long long before convention day. Seems like not a difficult thing to figure out but several counties couldn't do it.

I'm definitely "down" with that.

Love, your sistah from da sixth.
