When I pay my taxes, I don't usually say thanks to the tax collector, but maybe I should. I live in the most amazing country in the world, where a public education is provided for all. Where firemen come when a house or building are burning or maybe my pootie is caught in a tree. Where the police will protect and the court will serve justice for me. Where brave men and women put their lives on the line to defend and protect me. I know I can count on all of this because of my taxes.
Roads and bridges are built and maintained with my taxes. American waterways are maintained and kept safe by our Coast Guard, paid with my taxes. Federal and State forests and parks are purchased, manned and maintained because I pay my taxes. I can retire with dignity when the time comes because I pay my taxes.
Yes, I love this amazing country and now that I think of it, I'll have to agree with VP Biden, it is Patriotic to pay my taxes. So thanks Mr. Taxman, for collecting and distributing my taxes.

Just read a new definition of Teabagger
by the Urban Dictionary:
Teabagger n. A conservative activist who is so ignorant that they protest against tax cuts (that benefit them) by throwing tea into a river.
Thom Hartman hit the nail on the head today
He mentioned the fact that somehow the Big Business Rich Elite have found away to brainwash the Middle Class, Family Values Crowd (I'm putting it in my own words)of America to think that these policies that favor the rich also favor the middle class. And not only have they fallen for it now they are protesting in support of polices that in large part want benefit them. They are acting against their own self interest all in the name of CONservatism. They are but sheep so easily lead astray.

Baffling
Shocking, just shocking.
Why can't you just whine about your taxes like all the right-wingers? We all know that we'd be so much better off living in a state of anarchy with no evil government bureaucracies between us and the Invisible Hand.
;-)

What baffles me
is how so many people swallow the foolishness that all government is bad. Not too many years ago big pharma was running the commercial about keeping government out of our medicine cabinet, so we got medicine that killed us. Pffft.
Disgusting Propaganda
Most of the things listed in that video aren't even paid for by the Federal government - and if they are, there's no reason the state or local government can't pay for them.
Taxation is theft, plain and simple. When kings and emperors did it you guys would have been in the masses of peasants who said: "but the good king keeps us safe! the church say that he is a good man! he fights off the bad kings and has the theives hung in the public square! God Save the King!"
Paying taxes isn't patriotic! Here's a hint why: IT'S NOT VOLUNTARY! (Contrary to what our senate majority leader believes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7mRSI8yWwg)
Quick progressives! Rush to the ramparts! Defend the establishment! (now that you feel represented by it)
Yes, it's patriotic to pay for the Department of Homeland Security, unconstitutional wars, banker bailouts, etc. I'm assuming you guys think that selective service is "patriotic" too? "Bring back the draft!" - the progressives
I knew it would come full circle (left literally coping the techniques of the right) by the left appealing to "patriotism" in the face of logic, but wow it's still pretty unbelievable.

Your wrong again.
Although I do agree with you that the Dems in Congress have had a tendency to copy the Right on some issues. But what I think you are really referring to is how Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutly. Now! We all want to have a voice or else we wouldn't be on sites like this. The Problem is when we get the Opportunity to Lead what do we do with it? All to often Dems have coward back into their shells and have refused to support and promote Strong Progressive Policies. They say I want to lead form the Center. How Can Anyone lead from the Center of the Pack? (That is a HallStyle orginal Quote). In order to lead we need to be out Front with our Ideas and not just do what is Political Correct. The Excessive Use of Power by the BUSH administration BLINDED HIS VISION. Thus being Blinded he almost ran this country off a cliff. Checks and balances were put into place BY OUR FOUNDING FATHERS TO PREVENT IDIOTS LIKE BUSH FROM RUNNING THE COUNTRY OFF A CLIFF. The Problem is when Congress and The Supreme Court RUBBER STAMP everything that the Executive Branch wants to achieve. Now I am all for Majority Rule. But at the same time each Branch has a Role to play. During the Bush Administration CONGRESS decided to give BUSH TO MUCH POWER. They Were Wrong in doing so. NOW OBAMA HAS THAT POWER. I can imagine what must be going through his mind. How do I use this Power for Good? Should I use this Power at all? Or should I over turn everything BUSH Achieved and denounce that Power all together? The one thing about Power is that it doesn't go away. It is just passed from one entity to another. So the questions is should The President Have this Power or Should Congress? I believe that Barack Obama has decided to maintain this power so that Congress can't have it. Is it right or wrong? I don't know yet it depends on what he does with it. He has the will of the people behind him. He can't be stopped right now! CONs need to walk real carefully when it comes to Obama. They are already being Labeled The Party of NO, and the GOP (The Grand Obstructionist Party). Now they are going to be labeled as Separtist and Right Wing Terrorist Extremist. They better be careful how the Media spins things. They could come out looking like sh!sss in 2010, and 2012. I hope so anyway.

You know Dr. Q
I find you and your opinions disgusting, how do you look at yourself in the mirror?
Propaganda indeed, wake up man! Please explain to me why you bother to come here, do you make yourself feel better by talking down to the libruls? You contribute nothing except hate and division (just like the Grand Obstructionist Party), so what is you ultimate goal of coming to this community?
You got it all wrong!
I want more Right Wingers like him on this site. Just think about it for a second. They don't have anything in their favor right now. They are the wrong side of almost EVERY Issue. It is good for them to come here and try to get their point across and fail miserably every time. I frankly enjoy reading their rants. It doesn't make sense most of the time but I do enjoy it. Plus he has just as much as a right to voice his Weak Opinion as we do. We need Right Wingers like him to make US STRONGER BY DEFEATING THEM ON THE ISSUES!

If paying your taxes is so wonderful and "patriotic"
... why do so many Obama administration appointees have such a hard time doing it? haha

Yea, and maybe Bush...
was just channeling his "inner Democrat" when he adopted an imperialist foreign policy? Wilson -> FDR -> Truman -> JFK -> Johnson -> Clinton
