Okay, so there was little real interest in the 100C idea at the "official" level. Which, let's face it, is not surprising. It's time for us to figure out what we can and cannot do here at BlueNC or through whatever "alternate" ego we establish.
I'd like to make something perfectly clear here. I like collaboration. I dig collaboration. And, I know that leadership in collaboration means not always being in charge, not always getting your way, and not getting credit. I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THAT. If I could find a job doing just that, I would. Finding collaborative grants, convincing everyone to participate, spearheading their writing, getting funded, then moving on to another one. I love this stuff. So, I'm going to kick things off here with the full understanding that this will grow into whatever y'all want it to be. I'll play whatever role I can and no more. With that, some random thoughts below the break.
In no particular order:
So, where do we go from here? Do we build this behind the scenes at BlueNC? Do we take up a new CivicSpace webpage? Can we get a CRM system up and running for us to keep track of what we should each be doing?
Do we want to do this?
If you are interested in taking a leadership role on this project, go to this link and join the 100C group (Subscribe link in top left corner), which will be involved with the nuts and bolts. If you just want to hear about the progress, then just stay tuned to the front-page.

I'm already a member, so I can't seem to check the link. Let me know if it doesn't work.

I don't see a link
Perhaps I don't have full permissions, or something. However, I am quite interested in this project. Please help.

Added you
Not sure why you didn't see a link (above my blog grade) but I added you (within my blog grade).
Look under the BlueNC logo...
and above your user name???
If not, I will add you manually.

lcloud,
...between the BlueNC* logo and your username in the left column, there isn't a subscribe link for 100c? If it isn't too much trouble, will you check again and let me know?
EDIT: nevermind. If Robert added you, you'll no longer see the subscribe link (though there should be others in its place). Anyone else having problems?
Thanks
It could have been that I was just missing it; there hasn't been enough coffee in my life today. I appreciate the help.

Can you say more?
What kind of a response did you get?
Not much, but I didn't attack them or anything.
All along I imagined we would have to do this ourselves to some extent in order to get noticed. So, I threw out some feelers and nothing came of it. Nuff said.

The Official Level
There was no support for Larry Kissell at "The Official Level" either...until he started looking like he could win. Then everyone wanted a piece of what may yet be a success.
We must begin it and then suffer the latecomers gladly.
Tell me which counties in the west I can start recruiting folks from - that is, which counties had unopposed folks?
Scrutiny Hooligans - http://www.scrutinyhooligans.us
You could probably do that better than I.
Give us some ideas. The map of House districts is here, Senate districts here, and election results here.
Another tidbit that y'all WNCers could send our way is which counties have benefitted from Taylor's spread of broadband internet?

Kos front-paged a story on Meek
Go climb all over it.
I can't see the link either, but add me to the 100C group please
I can work Pender and New Hanover Counties.
We need to recruit some folks from Brunswick and Duplin...or do we have someone already?

Make sure you are at the link for the group:

Tell us what you see under the green 100c which is under the BlueNC* logo in the top left corner. This will help Lance fix any glitch. Is it your username or is there a menu above your username with a subscribe option?
Sorry...had to go away for awhile
I'm subscribed now. When I went to 100C there was a subscribe link above my user name...went there..and am now awaiting "approval" Thanks for the help.

Pretty sure we need to recruit
We've not had much traction from down east until you and Nan climbed on board. Thomas Brock is in Jacksonville and seems ready to help there. And we have a couple of loose connections in Kinston. But that's pretty much it.
I know we can recruit out of our neighborhood
for New Hanover...and the New Hanover County Dems are fairly active although there is some dissension about and among candidates. The biggest targets locally are the 3 Republicans on the school board (We just got Nick Rhodes elected (Dem) as the 4th member...and our Republican City Council which is pathetic. Pat Delair (Dem) just won election to the council, but she's gonna need help.

What have YOU done today to make the world a better place?
North Carolina Precincts
How many precincts are in North Carolina? And what is the Democratic/Republican breakdown of each precinct?
My formula: 1 state, 11 media markets, 13 Congressional Districts, 3080 counties, ????? precincts, 1,525,849 Kerry voters to start from, smallest number of Kerry voters 1,924 (Gates County). The pool of potential volunteers is huge.
50 states, 210 media market, 435 Congressional Districts, 3080 counties, 192,480 precincts
