Weekend wound-up

Just you watch

Over the course of this year, Skip Stam will succeed in establishing his own personal version of sharia as the law of the land here in Carolinastan.

That's what happens when the other side wins!

Frankly I knew that was going to happen. But talking about all the crappy stuff that the Republicans will do won't help us win back our majority - and make sure it's a majority of elected Democrats who will actually work to turn the Party Platform into public policy.

I do hope that the NCDP will stop drinking the koolaid from certain 2008 campaigns and go back to some old-school 50-state/100-county strategy that resulted in both winning seats, continuing what was then a 110-year winning streak AND building the Party while doing it.

We should not let campaigns re-direct/mis-direct our efforts to just helping them out at the expense of other (mostly down-ballot) candidates and our own Party.

Remember the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the "One"!

Part of the reason

we talk about all that crappy stuff is to make some of the folks in the General Assembly think twice before voting for something they don't really believe in.

Not talking about it is not an option.

many of them never thought twice about it...

...before when we had the majority.

The GOP is in the majority and the Dems are in the minority.

Let's focus on building a Democratic Party where we the grassroots have the sort of leverage with the elected Democratic leaders so that they have little choice OTHER than to vote for the things WE believe at all times, and work to build the Party from the grassroots up so that we can elect every Democratic candidate on our slate.

When we work to get that powerful and have that much leverage, then candidates will really listen to us when we talk about stuff. Because right now they tell us they need us to work to get them elected, then go back on their promises once they are elected to pay off the people who donate money to their campaigns.
